The Lourdes Grotto at Gilsdorf is located not far from the Sure river. The grotto is situated by a road and a few steps must be taken to reach it.
The Grotto of Lourdes was made in 1952. The statue of the standing Mary is white. The statue of the kneeling Bernadette is white and small.
A second statue of Mary is located next to the Lourdes grotto and beneath it is the text: “Priez le Chapelet tous les jours” (Pray the Rosary every day).
The village of Gilsdorf (Luxembourgish: Gilsdref) is located between the towns of Diekirch and Bettendorf in the northeast of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. It belongs to the municipality of Bettendorf and the canton of Diekirch. Address: 9373 Bettendorf – Gilsdorf. To get to the Lourdes Grotto, after the Gilsdorf church, head towards Ermsdorf and follow the road CR 356 on the Route de Broderbour. Turn left 100 metres after Gilsdorf and then go 250 m uphill to the Lourdes Grotto. There is a sign on the road with the text “Grotte de Lourdes”.
