An example of a well-maintained Lourdesgrotto can be seen in Achterbroek.
From the Kalmthoutsesteenweg, you enter a path lined with trees, bushes, and plants on either side, a magnificent entrance to the grotto of Mary. After about 50 metres, visitors arrive at the Lourdes grotto.
Mary stands at a height of 2 metres in a niche, and the image of Bernadette is diagonally in front of Our Lady. In the large niche of the grotto, a small altar table has been placed, on which there is a Lourdes statue, flowers, and plants. On the right side in the niche are texts with prayers to Mary.
In front of the Lourdes grotto, there are benches for prayer and/or relaxation. In a small bed in front of the grotto, plants can be seen, and this flora is also arranged in flower boxes.
This well-maintained Lourdes grotto is more than worth the visit.
