Girsterklaus is located in the east of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, beyond the town of Echternach, close to the German border.
In 1910, a Lourdes grotto was built on a corner by the roadside at the pilgrimage site. The grotto, with the statues of Mary and Bernadette, is located behind a fence.
On 11 February 2023, the new statue of Bernadette Soubirous was consecrated.
