Heaven

Often I stand before an image of Mary and look down first, then up to see Her in the eyes for a long time. As I raise my head, it's looking each other in the eye. Meeting Her gaze gives me a very powerful feeling.

In many depictions, Mary looks upwards, seeing the heavenly realm. She adopts an open posture, directed towards the heavens. This seeing makes my heart receptive to Her. Looking at Our Lady makes me experience my smallness.

My love for Mary draws me closer to Her. This gives me an ultimate, blissful experience. To be near the Mother of everyone feels like a great privilege. Then I look up again, above the clouds is heaven; my hopeful future. To get there…
