The Mary Chapel in Langeweg was built in 1951. It is a former, brick, octagonal baptistery in the Neo-Romanesque style. The chapel has a small tower on the roof. Candles are lit daily in the Mary Chapel. Inside the chapel, there is a light brown wooden statue of Mary on an altar, and an old banner from the “Maria-Vereeniging Langeweg” hangs there.

In 2013, the Chapel of Mary was re-consecrated by Deacon Michaël Bastiaansen (1944). The Chapel of Mary is maintained by local residents.

The chapel stands on a complex that was first a monastery, as Capuchins settled in Slikgat, which is now called Langeweg, in 1873. During the Second World War (1939-1945), the church and monastery buildings were largely destroyed. In 1951, the church, which had been severely damaged by wartime violence, was replaced, and a Marian chapel was built next to it. The church is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and was used for services until 2013.

In 1971, the monastery complex is taken over by the Emmaus Langeweg Foundation. The former monastic buildings are located behind and next to the former church. The buildings are inhabited by the Emmaus Community, who turn the entire site into a work and living complex with charity shops. In 2014, this organisation buys the church to store goods in. On Wednesday and Saturday afternoons, the church and charity shops are open from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and there is also a catering facility for drinks and snacks.

In 2023, a monument was unveiled next to the entrance of the St. Mary's Chapel as a tribute to military veterans. It stands against the wall of the former church.

The Mary Chapel is located to the left of the church building at Kloosterlaan 6 and is open daily from 10.00 to 16.00. Langeweg belongs to the municipality of Moerdijk and is situated in the northwest of the province of North Brabant.
