In the large city of Linz, there is a Lourdes Grotto located in the church named “Ursulinenkirche”. Upon entering, you should immediately turn right, as the grotto is situated downstairs in the right-hand tower.
In the current Lourdes chapel, a statue of Saint Joseph originally stood on the baroque altarpiece, and this was replaced by the statue of Mary in 1886. This was done to commemorate the apparitions of Mary in 1858 in the French town of Lourdes. The grotto with Mary is designed to do justice to the traditional representation of a grotto and the Immaculate Conception, but without the image of the visionary Bernadette Soubirous.
Address Lourdes Grotto: Landstrasse 31, A 4020 Linz.
