In the Northeast of France, near the German-French border, lies Rosheim, 25 km above Strasbourg. The Lourdes grotto is built behind the church, which is dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul, on Rue du Général de Gaulle.

The Lourdes Grotto was built in 1932 and features a beautiful statue of Mary, approximately 1.5 metres long, positioned three metres high in the grotto's niche. The kneeling Bernadette is located at an appropriate distance from the grotto. A fence has been installed in front of the Lourdes Grotto. The entire site gives a well-maintained impression.
On the evening of the first Sunday in September, therefore close to the feast of the Nativity of Mary, a procession is held to the Grotto of Lourdes. The street and house lights along the procession route are then extinguished. Many candles illuminate the houses and participants in the procession also carry candles.
